FIVE WAYS TO CELEBRATE YOUR ORIGINAL WEDDING DATE

Have you had to postpone your wedding because of coronavirus? I can only imagine how disappointing it is for you! Here’s a reminder that your wedding will be worth the wait. When it does happen, you will hug harder, laugh louder and enjoy every single moment. The past few months have reminded us of what is really important, and that is love. I have put together a list of five ways to celebrate your original wedding date and to help you feel extra excited for your new date:

  1. Have a virtual / socially distanced meet up with your bridal party

These are your people. These are the special few that you chose to be front and centre on your wedding day. So why not get together with them, either virtually or from a safe distance, and have a fun evening. You can toast your wedding date and enjoy plenty of craic.

  1. Have a picnic

Get outside and go to a place that means something to you. It could be where you had your first date, got engaged or where you were planning to go for your wedding portraits. Wherever it is, pack some yummy food and drink, a blanket and you are all set.

3. Have a wedding movie date night

As we’re a bit limited on where we can go at the moment, why not have a low-key evening on the sofa? There’s nothing like a feel-good movie! Order a takeaway, get comfy on the sofa and have a good laugh/cry.

Here are some of my favourites:

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Four weddings and a Funeral

Father of the Bride

  1. Eat some cake

Cake makes everything better, am I right? So, mark the occasion by eating some cake. You could bake the cake together if you wanted to channel your inner Mary Berry. Or you could get your cake designer to make a small cake as an extra special treat.

  1. Look through your old photos or take some new ones!

I don’t know about you, but I love looking through old photos! Spend some time looking back though your camera roll and photo albums and laugh about how young you both looked. Holiday photos can help you look forward to your honeymoon in the not too distant future!

Or you might decide that now is the perfect time to get some new photos of you both. You could use this time to get some engagement photos taken, which is a great way to feel relaxed in front of the camera before your wedding day.

Let’s look forward to when you do get to celebrate! What matters most is your love and thankfully that has not been postponed. The countdown is on!
